Frenkel Topping makes double acquisition worth a combined £9m

Frenkel Topping has purchased two Doncaster-based law firms as part of its efforts to bolster its presence in the personal injury and clinical negligence markets. A & M Bacon Limited and Partners in Costs Limited have been acquired for a total combined value of £9m: Frenkel Topping will pay an upfront sum of £5m, followed by deferred payments of around £3m, with the remaining £1m paid through the issue of shares.

The transaction follows Frenkel Topping’s £13m acquisition fund which it raised last year in order to secure a strong acquisition pipeline.

Chief executive at Frenkel Topping, Richard Fraser, said: “The acquisitions fit exactly into our strategy of acquiring high-quality businesses in the personal injury and clinical negligence market and builds on the successful acquisition and integration of Forths last year .

“These acquisitions will further strengthen our offering and drive the continued growth of Frenkel Topping.”

Chief executives of A & M Bacon Limited and Partners in Costs, Robert Glynn and Teresa Aitken, respectively, will continue in their roles as executives and as shareholders.
